31st December 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have been informed that following discussions with Welsh Government officials, the Local Authority has decided that all schools in Neath Port Talbot will not return to school for face to face teaching until Monday 11th January. Cases of Covid 19 remain exceptionally high across Neath Port Talbot.

Therefore, we will be providing online learning for our pupils from Wednesday 6th January.

However, face to face learning will be available, if required, for vulnerable pupils and children of critical workers from Wednesday 6th January 2021.

In order to ascertain numbers of pupils needing to attend/ bubble formation, from Wednesday 6th January 2021 to Friday 8th January could you please make contact with me by 3pm on Monday 4th January, 2021 either by email mayc15@hwbmail.net or by text.

Please take into consideration when making your decision that every child that can be safely cared for at home should be.

Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept home. However, if a parents/carers work is critical to the COVID-19 response or is in a key sector such as health and social care and the child/children cannot be kept safely at home, then continued face to face education will be provided.

Please can I also ask everyone keeps following the guidelines and if children have any of the symptoms don’t send them to school and if deemed necessary book a test and let us know.

As 2020 comes to an end; I would like to take this opportunity to once again, thank you all for your support, in what has been an exceptionally challenging year for everyone. I wish you all a happier, healthier and more positive 2021.

Take care, stay safe!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. C. May
